Winners & Losers: SmackDown 07/23/19

Last week SmackDown fans saw three women’s matches, this week there was only one and it lasted about one minute. In the advertised match, Ember Moon went up against Charlotte Flair. Moon picked up the win with a roll-up after Bayley‘s music hit and the SmackDown Women’s Champion came out to cause the distraction.

After Bayley gave Moon the distraction needed for her to win, Moon fed her opponent at SummerSlam to The Queen by throwing her into the ring. Flair gave the champ a big boot to the back of the neck. Moon proved why she deserves a shot at the title by giving an Eclipse to both Flair and Bayley to end the segment.

Other than, for the lack of a better term, this match, the only other women that were featured were Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Backstage, Deville was alone on her phone when her Fire and Desire partner Rose came to join her.

Rose let Deville know that she convinced Shane McMahon to give them a match against The IIconics next week for the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Or do they? We don’t know. Deville asks Rose if they have a title match next week. Rose responds with, “Yes, and if we win we deserve a tag title match.” Um. Well, it is good to see that we will at least get a match, this much we know.

Flair announces later on in the night backstage that she demands a match at SummerSlam. So although we can only get one short match on SmackDown, it looks like we will have at least three women’s matches at the next pay-per-view. Who do you think will be her opponent? Liv Morgan? Sasha Banks?

With the women very scarce this week for the blue brand, the Winners & Losers list isn’t going to be much to report on.

Winner: Ember Moon

Ember had to have won this week. She won her match and turned on Bayley. She delivered her an Eclipse on both Bayley and Flair. This made her look strong at this point with SummerSlam just a couple weeks away.

Losers: Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

Based on the fact that they aren’t sure if they have a title match or not places them on the losers list this week. Well, also because of the fact there weren’t many other women to choose from. Although it is good they are going to have a match and actually be used as the tag team that they are, can we get some clarification, please?
