Women Of The Royal Rumble: A Retrospective

Raw Roster

Alexa Bliss

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 3
  • Longest Time – 26:34
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 5

Alexa Bliss will likely not be in this year’s Rumble, but it wouldn’t be the first time someone has had to play double duty. She is currently booked for a match against Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship. Her best showing in a Rumble match was in 2020 when she entered in at the number 1 spot eliminating 3 people and lasting a total of 26:34.

Asuka

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 1
  • Longest Time – 19:41
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 3
  • Win – 1 (2018)

Shockingly, Asuka has only been in one Royal Rumble, but she made it count. She won the first-ever women’s rumble match. Currently, Asuka has not been seen since her loss to Rhea Ripley in December. During that loss, Asuka appeared without her signature face makeup and had a new demeanor which wasn’t the Asuka we have known. If she does appear in this year’s Rumble, will we get a new version of The Empress?

Bayley

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 3
  • Longest Time -29:08
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 5

Bayley has faired okay in the Rumble matches. She hasn’t lasted to the very end or won, but she has had a near 30-minute appearance and has eliminated a total of five in her three times in the match.

Becky Lynch

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 2
  • Longest Time – 30:54
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 4
  • Wins – 1 (2019)

Becky has a similar record to Bayley with one less appearance. The difference is, Becky won the 2019 Royal Rumble match. She was originally not scheduled for the match but replaced an already injured Lana after an attack by Nia Jax took Lana out of entering the match.

Bianca Belair

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 3
  • Longest Time – 56:52
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 13
  • Win- 1 (2021)

Bianca holds a few records in the Rumble match. She will most likely not appear in this year’s as she is the current Raw Women’s Champion and facing Alexa Bliss on this card. She is tied with Shayna Baszler for 8 eliminations in a single Rumble, and she has the longest time at 56:52 just beating out Natalya who used to hold the record at 56:01. She won the 2021 Rumble and went on to become SmackDown Women’s Champion after defeating Sasha Banks in the Night One Main Event of WrestleMania 37.

Candice LeRae

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 2
  • Longest Time – 9:35
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Candice has appeared in two prior Rumbles, both of when she was in NXT. She appeared in the 2019 and 2020 Rumble matches. She has yet to eliminate anyone but in both appearances, she came to lasting close to 10 minutes. She is one of the seven women already declared for this Saturday’s match. With it being her first appearance as a main roster member, will she have a better showing?

Carmella

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 5
  • Longest Time – 18:45
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 3

Carmella is the first on this list to appear in all five rumble matches. Her best showing was in the inaugural match in 2018 lasting almost 19 minutes. She has eliminated three total through all five appearances, however, one of those three was herself in 2021. She has been out of action for months due to personal/health reasons. She may be making her return in the rumble.

Dakota Kai

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 2
  • Longest Time – 2:06
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Despite this being Dakota Kai’s first year on the main roster, she has appeared twice in Rumble matches during her time as an NXT Superstar. She hasn’t had too much luck in either. If she is in this year’s hopefully she has a better showing now that she is one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Dana Brooke

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 5
  • Longest Time – 7:17
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 1

Dana is always a workhorse and has appeared in all five Rumbles. Despite this, she hasn’t had the best track record. She has not appeared in a Raw ring since the 24/7 Title was dropped at the end of last year. If she is an entry this year, maybe she can have her best showing yet.

Doudrop

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 0
  • Longest Time – N/A
  • Total Number of Eliminations – N/A

Shockingly, Doudrop has not appeared in a Rumble. Even though she hasn’t been on the main roster for too long, even her time in NXT UK could have had her in a Rumble match prior, but hasn’t. Last year, she faced Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship which is why she was not in the Rumble. Her current status has had her out due to illness since September. Reports indicate she is in San Antonio for this year’s Rumble so we’ll see if she makes her first appearance.

IYO SKY

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 1
  • Longest Time – 13:21
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Much like the other half of the tag team champs Dakota Kai, SKY has had much of an appearance in the Rumble yet to make a splash. Her one appearance was when she was still in NXT. She last a decent time of just over 13 minutes but wasn’t able to eliminate anyone.

Mia Yim

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 1
  • Longest Time – 6:30
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Another former NXT star that hasn’t had the opportunity to enter a Rumble since being on the main roster. She wasn’t able to join when she was Reckoning. Since returning, Mia has received some good time in the ring and we will see if it transfers to the rumble (if she is in it).

Nikki Cross

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 4
  • Longest Time – 15:08
    • Total Number of Eliminations – 1

Nikki hasn’t had too many good showings in the Rumbles when it comes to eliminations, but she hasn’t been eliminated to quick herself. Now that she is back to Cross from A.S.H will that help her if she is in the rumble?

Rhea Ripley

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 3
  • Longest Time – 39:06
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 13

Despite only being on the main roster for two years now, Rhea has had an impressive showing in Rumble matches. She nearly won in 2021 as she was in the last two competitors with Bianca and she has eliminated a total of 13 women. She is confirmed for Saturday’s match and is heavily speculated by fans as the potential winner.

Tamina

  • Number of Rumble Appearances -5
  • Longest Time – 16:41
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 1

On the positive side, Tamina has been in every Rumble so far. On the negative side, she has only ever eliminated one person. Tamina is often regulated as the muscle or the power in these types of matches, but her stats don’t add up. If she is in this year’s match, maybe she can get more eliminations under her name.
