Women Of The Royal Rumble: A Retrospective

SmackDown Roster –

Aliyah

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 1
  • Longest Time – 22:50
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Aliyah has only had one appearance in the Royal Rumble. Unlike some current roster members who had chances while in NXT, Aliyah never got to enter until she made it to the main roster. Her one appearance last year does have an impressive time of 22:50 despite no eliminations. Aliyah has been out for the past several months due to an injury. Could she be returning at the Rumble this weekend?

B-Fab

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 0
  • Longest Time – N/A
  • Total Number of Eliminations – N/A

B-Fab has yet to have a match since returning to WWE and on the main roster.

Charlotte Flair

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 4
  • Longest Time – 50:01
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 15
  • Win – 1 (2020)

Charlotte is a prior Royal Rumble winner. She may not be in this year’s rumble as she is the current SmackDown Women’s Champion and currently feuding with Sonya Deville. A match between Flair and Deville has not been booked as of yet, but we still have some time left. Charlotte holds the record of the most cumulative eliminations at 15.

Emma

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 0
  • Longest Time – N/A
  • Total Number of Eliminations – N/A

Emma just missed the first Royal Rumble as she was released from WWE in 2017. This will be her first appearance since returning. Although she hasn’t been picking up any wins since her return, perhaps she can have a strong showing here.

Lacey Evans

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 2
  • Longest Time – 29:20
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 3

Lacey’s first showing in the rumble took place in 2019. She had a strong start at the number 2 position kicking off the match with Natalya. She was listed as a free agent at the time because she was in the middle of NXT and her call-up. Currently, Lacey has been all over the place since her return from her maternity leave. Her recent vignettes will likely have her return in the Rumble.

Liv Morgan

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 5
  • Longest Time – 37:20
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 2

Liv has had a very rollercoaster experience with Rumble matches. She has some short times including the shortest time at eight seconds. However, last year’s rumble looked good for her as she lasted over 37 minutes. She doesn’t have a lot of eliminations to show for her efforts but she has been climbing the ranks this past year and is now a former champion.

Maxxine Dupri

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 0
  • Longest Time – N/A
  • Total Number of Eliminations – N/A

Maxxine has yet to have a match in WWE. It has been reported that she has been training. In a segment with Emma, Raquel Rodriguez, and Liv Morgan she alluded to entering the Rumble, but it wasn’t confirmed.

Naomi

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 5
  • Longest Time – 47:39
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 2

Naomi quickly earned the title of the Kofi Kingston of the women’s division when it comes to the Royal Rumble match. She certainly makes the match that much more entertaining. She has been in all five and holds a time of almost 48 minutes in her best go. Currently, Naomi’s future with WWE is unknown since she left in May.

Natalya

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 5
  • Longest Time – 56:01
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 8

The veteran of the women’s locker room at one time held the longest record before Bianca Belair surpassed it, and does rather well in rumble matches. Currently, Natalya has been out for the past several months due to needing nose surgery. She may be one of the few returning.

Raquel Rodriguez

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 0
  • Longest Time – N/A
  • Total Number of Eliminations – N/A

Raquel is another surprise who was never used in the Rumble during her time in NXT. This will be her first go as she has already declared herself to be in the match. Raquel has a good shot to be one that eliminates a lot of competitors.

Ronda Rousey

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 1
  • Longest Time – 10:16
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 4
  • Win – 1 (2022)

Rousey has only appeared in one Rumble match and made the most of it. She won last year’s and went to WrestleMania to face Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, much like Asuka‘s one win, she failed to capture the gold at the big show. She would become champion later at Backlash. As for this year, it has been reported that she will not be a part of the rumble but we won’t know for sure until it happens.

Scarlett

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 0
  • Longest Time – N/A
  • Total Number of Eliminations – N/A

Scarlett has only had one match in WWE so far outside of her valet/manager duties. She tagged with Karrion Kross and defeated Emma and Madcap Moss. It is uncertain if the valets from SmackDown will be in the Rumble, but I can see Scarlett entering.

Shayna Baszler

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 3
  • Longest Time – 41:46
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 14

Shayna is another participant the rumble match favors. Although she hasn’t won one (yet) she has had a long time in the match and holds 14 eliminations total just behind Flair’s 15. She is confirmed for this Saturday’s event.

Shotzi

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 3
  • Longest Time – 7:57
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Shotzi falls in the trend of NXT stars that were used to fill in rumble spots but didn’t amount to match. The only time she was on the main roster for the match was last year when she entered at number 29 but didn’t last too long. She is currently out of action with a broken hand but may be in the group with as Aliyah, Natalya, Carmella, and Doudrop that may be returning.

Sonya Deville

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 4
  • Longest Time – 6:41
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 4

Sonya’s rumble appearances scream her booking throughout her career. She is a workhorse who is always put in where she is needed but doesn’t get many achievements herself. She may not be in this year’s match if she is booked to face Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Tegan Nox

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 1
  • Longest Time – 3:50
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Tegan just recently returned as one of the many that were brought back to the company. Her only appearance in the rumble was a part of the NXT group that was there to fill in the numbers. So far she is not confirmed for this year’s but it is a good chance she will be in it.

Valhalla/Sarah Logan

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 4
  • Longest Time – 16:30
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Sarah Logan has appeared in four rumble matches despite being released in 2020 and returning this year. She appeared in 2021’s rumble when she was not under contract. Her best showing was just over 16 minutes at entry number 3 in 2018. Currently going by the name Valhalla, she has been utilized as a manager but she will be one that would be no surprise in the rumble.

Xia Li

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 2
  • Longest Time – 10:49
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 0

Xia Li has been lost in the shuffle since being called up and her two prior rumble appearances are when she was in NXT. Last year she was on the main roster but was not used.

Zelina Vega

  • Number of Rumble Appearances – 3
  • Longest Time – 17:25
  • Total Number of Eliminations – 1

Zelina is already confirmed for this year’s match. She seems pretty confident in her ability to get the win based on her interaction last week with Emma. Vega’s prior spots in the rumble involved hiding under the ring until Hornswoggle chased her out.
