Every hour until the clock strikes midnight (Eastern time) and we usher in 2014, Diva Dirt will highlight – in no particular order – the women who made an impact in 2013.
Cheerleader Melissa
Lots of people claim to be the best in the world in the realm of women’s wrestling, but if there’s one woman who has a legitimate claim to that title, it is Cheerleader Melissa.
Melissa kicked off 2013 by defeating Saraya Knight in the first ever SHIMMER Steel Cage match to win the SHIMMER Championship, and has been on a roll ever since, taking on all challengers when it comes to her championship. Her final title defense of 2013 showed just how tenacious she is, battling LuFisto while sporting a forehead wound that left her face covered in blood. It was a jarring sight and a reminder that Melissa is one of the toughest wrestlers – male or female – working today.
Between defending her SHIMMER title at October set of tapings, landing the #1 spot on the PWI Female 50, appearing at TNA Knockout Knockdown to take on Gail Kim, as well as holding on to titles from two other promotions, Cheerleader Melissa has more than proven that 2013 was her year.
Come back at the top of every hour to see who else has been crowned one of 2013’s “Women of the Year”.
