Every hour until the clock strikes midnight (Eastern time) and we usher in 2014, Diva Dirt will highlight – in no particular order – the women who made an impact in 2013.
Lei’D Tapa
Destructive. Dangerous. Deadly.
That’s three words you could use to describe the monstrous Lei’D Tapa, who burst onto the scene in TNA in 2013. We first met Tapa on a national scale in February when she defeated Ivelisse in the Gut Check competition to win a TNA contract. Tapa would soon begin running through the completion in OVW, including competing in the first ever Fatal Four-Way Ladder Match for the OVW Women’s Championship, and eventually winning the title from Hannah Blossom. Tapa would made her main roster debut on October 3rd, where she quickly laid waste to Knockouts such as Brooke, Velvet Sky and ODB.
Tapa looked to be the next in line for a shot at ODB’s Knockouts Championship, so we were a little shocked when a 3-Way match was made for Bound for Glory, but soon it would all become clear. Lei’D Tapa would align herself with Gail Kim, helping her win the Knockouts Championship at Bound For Glory. The fierce duo would dominate the Knockouts Division for the rest of 2013.
While Tapa proved her dominance in 2013, the question is, Will she remain by Gail Kim’s side in 2014, or could Lei’D Tapa be looking for some singles gold of her own?
