Alexa Bliss
Small, but fierce. These three words sum up Alexa Bliss to a T.
When Alexa began her run as a glitter-loving pixie, it was hard to imagine that she would become one of the best bad girls that NXT has to offer. She has grown increasingly comfortable with being nasty. Bliss is the perfect amount of spiteful and smug.
Furthermore, she is undeniably the star of the BAM Factor. It’s often the women in wrestling who are the arm candy, but not in this instance. In a reversal of roles, Blake and Murphy are the add-ons; the woman is the heart of the group.
Alexa started her year impressing enough with her in-ring progress to earn herself a title match against then-NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. Despite losing, she caught the attention of then-NXT Tag Team Champions Blake and Murphy. The pair had been feuding with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady for months and even tried to woo Carmella on several occasions in an attempt to lure her away from them. In Alexa, they found their foil for the Fabulous one. By May their group was complete – Alexa turned heel and assisted them in retaining their tag titles at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable.
Bliss filled out the rest of her year picking fights with the likes of Blue Pants and NXT Women’s Champion Bayley, the latter of which resulted in a main event match on an episode of NXT. Again, despite being handed a loss, this was the first real test of Alexa in a higher profile role and she proved that she’s more than capable of holding her own. With Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks all moving to greener pastures in 2015, the floor is open for Alexa to…. sparkle.
