The Women’s Tag Team Titles are back after being vacated since May and a tournament kicked off on the Aug. 8 episode of Raw. There are eight teams in the tournament, four from Raw, three from SmackDown and one from NXT (that joins the SmackDown side of the brackets).
On Raw, the first team advanced when Dakota Kai & IYO SKY took out Dana Brooke and Tamina. They will take on the winners of the other first-round match between Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop vs. Asuka & Alexa Bliss that takes place on Aug. 15.
SmackDown’s first match takes place this Friday, Aug. 12 and will be Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah taking on Shotzi & Xia Li. The winner of this bout will go on to face off between the winners of Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons vs. Natalya & Sonya Deville. The date of that match has not been determined as of the time of this writing.
Also confirmed for this Friday will be a contract signing between the SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and her opponent for Clash at the Castle, Shayna Baszler.
