Coming off of WrestleMania weekend, new champs were crowned for both the Raw Women’s Title and the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Despite the lack of focus on the women’s division on the Raw after WrestleMania, there was some development between the tag teams that participated in the Fatal 4-way on Sunday. Naomi & Sasha Banks were crowned the new tag champs after pinning Carmella. They faced Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan in a Champions Contenders match where if the challengers won they would have a future championship opportunity.
Ripley and Morgan had a miscommunication in the match which resulted in the new tag champs picking up the win. After the match, Ripley was visibly upset with Morgan as she left the ring without her partner. Regardless of what happened out in the ring, the two made up backstage and Ripley told Morgan she got them a shot at the titles after all on the April 11 episode of Raw.
As for Carmella and Queen Zelina, the team seems to be no more. The former tag team champions imploded. They were set to face Shayna Baszler & Natalya but the team didn’t even come down to the ring before Zelina addressed Carmella.
She blames Carmella for losing the tag titles because she is so preoccupied with being the most beautiful woman in all of WWE and also with her pending marriage to Corey Graves. Zelina did admit that Graves is very attractive before Carmella demoted her from bridesmaid to flower girl. It got physical with Zelina coming out on top before Graves and Carmella locked lips.
Bianca Belair took to the ring to speak her first words as Raw Women’s Champion. She revealed the bruised eye that she suffered during her fight with Becky Lynch on WrestleMania Saturday.
She says without the humiliating moment that she had at SummerSlam where Lynch beat her in under 30 seconds made her realize how much better she could be. She added that the fans deserve better than Lynch as champion and she will prove that she is the champion everyone needs.
Belair declares that she is ready to face and fight every woman in the locker room. After Saturday, she is different, she is better. She isn’t letting go of the belt.
