With WrestleMania already taped and ready to go, the Women’s Tag Team Championship match wasn’t officially announced. That is, until now. On tonight’s RAW it was determined that The Kabuki Warriors will defend their titles against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.
There was a prior rumor that Asuka’s presence at Mania was questioned. That was later debunked and the word was that Asuka was in fact there for the tapings.
The Empress of Tomorrow has been chasing the RAW Women’s Championship since the beginning of the year. This will be the first time the tag titles have been defended on a televised event since the TLC pay-per-view in December.
Asuka lost her match against Bliss last week on SmackDown. She had a match tonight against NXT’s Kayden Carter and filed away a win. Kairi Sane’s last match was a tag team match with Asuka against Natalya and Liv Morgan on March 9. This was a non-title match.
The Kabuki Warriors have been champions since Hell in a Cell in October. They defeated Bliss and Cross to win the titles at that event. They are currently the longest reigning champions.
