The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships will be defended in two weeks on SmackDown.
Naomi & Sasha Banks will put their titles on the line against Shayna Baszler & Natalya. Despite WrestleMania Backlash being on May 8, WWE has decided to have the gold defended on the SmackDown following the Premium Live Event.
The match was confirmed on this week’s SmackDown after Naomi defeated Shayna Baszler in singles competition. The challengers attacked the tag champs after the match. Natalya had Banks tied in the ropes forcing her to watch Naomi get her arm stomped on by Baszler.
Also on this week’s SmackDown, Raquel Rodriguez had her in-ring debut. She faced Cat Cardoza in a quick match. Cardoza, also known as Leila Grey, is an indie talent who is the current OVW Women’s Champion and has been a frequent talent on AEW Dark. She was seen as a guest during the Dana Brooke & Tamina bachelorette party segment.
