The Women’s Tag Team Championship has become a hot commodity as of late and it is coming to the NXT brand next. The idea of the championship is that they are defended across all brands.
Besides a one-off match in October the brand hasn’t had a chance to sink their teeth into the gold. That was when The Kabuki Warriors were champions and defending successfully against Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox.
It has been officially announced that next week, Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart will be facing the champions for the belts. Currently, the champions are recently crowned Sasha Banks and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in their second reign. They just defeated Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross last week on SmackDown.
They are the champions now, but they have a match on Sunday at the Backlash pay-per-view facing both Bliss & Cross as well as The IIconics. Nox & Blackheart have been tagging together more and more recently and were on the winning team at TakeOver along with Mia Yim. Nox picking up that victory for her team after pinning Dakota Kai.
The tag teams in NXT seem to be forming recently and as we saw on tonight’s show Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter are in the mix as well.
