Last night’s Monday Night Raw was rocked by a sombre moment as long-time commentator, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, collapsed during the live broadcast.
WWE has confirmed that Lawler, 62, suffered a heart attack.
In a statement, WWE said:
Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating during last night’s broadcast of Monday Night Raw in Montreal. We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family.
The news of Lawler’s heart attack has shocked and saddened the wrestling world, including Diva Dirt.
Messages of support have been flooding in via Twitter for the veteran announcer, including several from the women of wrestling.

WWE Diva Natalya wrote: “Praying for Jerry Lawler tonight. He’s a true fighter and an awesome person.”
SmackDown ring announcer Lilian Garcia added: “Am so shocked to hear about Jerry Lawler having a heart attack on Raw. PLEASE everyone pray for him 2 have a speedy recovery.”
Meanwhile, former TNA Knockout, Velvet Sky, who worked with Lawler at independent events in Aruba this past weekend, wrote: “Just did Pipers Pit with @JerryLawler In Aruba on Fri & he seemed 2 be in great health so I know he will pull thru this. God Bless u King!”
Former WWE Diva and current TNA star, Mickie James, also said: ” All my prayers & wishes go out my to my dear friend @JerryLawler & his loved ones tonight as he battles through this! Xoxo #PrayForLawler”.
