WWE announces opening of new UK Performance Center

It was announced on Friday by WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Triple H that a brand-new, state of the art Performance Center will be opening in the UK for the use of the NXT UK brand.

“This is the latest milestone in our global localization strategy and the next step in establishing local NXT brands around the world,” Triple H – whose real name is Paul Levesque – said on Friday during a live press conference.

“We are incredibly proud to open the UK Performance Center and provide our NXT UK Superstars the same world-class coaching and development programs that we deliver at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.”

Five years ago, WWE opened its first Performance Center for members of the NXT brand, as well as for superstars on the main roster looking to fine-tune their craft or recover from injury. Now, to coincide with the launching of the NXT UK brand, the global leader in sports-entertainment has opened up a new Performance Center to ensure that the next wave of WWE superstars have their own place to train.

The new Performance Center will boast 17,000 square feet of training area, as well as two training rings, world-class strength and conditioning equipment and “versatile content creation infrastructure.”

The opening of a new Performance Center will most certainly attract attention from a number of UK and European superstars that aren’t currently under contract to NXT UK. After all, when the first PC opened five years ago, it quickly became heralded as one of, if not the best training facility in the world, drawing all sorts of newcomers to the WWE in search of the best wrestling training they could find.

With that same sort of top-flight training now being offered outside of the United States for the first time, WWE may see an influx of interested talent ready to join the company.

Who do you want to see hitting the weights and the ring at WWE’s new UK Performance Center?
