WWE celebrating five years of women’s evolution this week

WWE has announced that they will be celebrating this week the evolution into the women’s division we know today. It has been five years since the transition from the Divas division to place and the likes of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks made their main roster debut.

Since the evolution over the past five years, the women of WWE have come a long way from their prior known three-minute matches. They have developed into main event stars as being on to end the show has become the new normal.

The women have also partaken in previously male-dominated only style matches. Such matches as the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, Hell in a Cell, and Elimination Chamber just to name a few have welcomed the women yearly. They even finally main evented WrestleMania for the first time in 2019.

In 2018 the first and so far only women’s pay-per-view event Evolution took place. It has recently been rumored that a second Evolution may be taking place at the end of August but WWE has not confirmed this news at this time. Stephanie McMahon will be celebrating the five years of women’s evolution on WWE’s The Bump this week.

WWE’s celebration will be done digitally and are currently being featured on their Instagram story celebrating past champions. They have kicked off the week on their YouTube page with the Top 10 Women’s Evolution debuts:
