WWE Chronicle about Paige to air after NXT Takeover: Phoenix

WWE announced today that a brand-new episode of WWE Chronicle featuring WWE Superstar Paige will debut on the WWE Network on Saturday night, immediately following NXT Takeover: Phoenix.

According to a synopsis of the episode from WWE, the episode will follow Paige from her return to action in November of 2017, following a 17-month absence from the ring due to injury and personal issues, and stick with her all the way through her career-ending injury suffered the very next month, leading to her retirement from the ring and eventual installation as the General Manager of the Smackdown brand.

This announcement comes as Paige has been absent from WWE TV for the past month. She was removed from her on-screen role as GM after the McMahon family decided to re-assume kayfabe control of both of the weekly shows.

Previous installments in the Chronicle series have included looks at Dean Ambrose’s recovery injury, as well as episodes focused on superstars like Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Paige was forced to retire from the ring after suffering a reoccurring neck injury at a house show in December of 2017, after a history of similar injuries had kept her sidelined for almost two years.

Before her injuries, Paige had been a two-time Divas champion, including the youngest-ever Divas champion at the age of 21 when she defeated AJ Lee on her very first night on the main roster back in 2014.

Paige also has a movie about her life debuting at the Sundance Film Festival later this month, with a general release coming on Feb. 22. The movie, entitled Fighting With My Family, will take a look at the early years of Paige’s career, from her beginnings in England with her family to her Divas title win on her debut night.
