WWE had two Road to WrestleMania Live Events over the weekend with the Raw roster taking place in Springfield Ill. and SmackDown showcasing in Johnson City, Tenn.
For the Raw roster, a Raw Women’s Championship match took place between the champion Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley. Generally, the number one contender is part of the live event championship matches, which would be Bianca Belair. Belair is set to challenge Lynch on Night One of WrestleMania 38.
WWE provided a storyline update for Belair after the attack from Lynch on last week’s Raw. The report says that Belair “suffered a fractured hyoid bone in her throat” after the attack from the steel chair by Lynch. She will not require surgery and has been taken out of action for an unspecified amount of time.
As a result, Lynch played this up by saying that Belair injured herself and she introduced Ripley to the life in the main event spot. The results for this event was as follows:
- Becky Lynch (c) defeated Rhea Ripley – Raw Women’s Championship
- Liv Morgan defeated Doudrop
For the WWE Live event in Tennessee featuring the SmackDown roster, the results were as follows –
- Sasha Banks defeated Natalya via DQ after Shayna Baszler got invovled
- Sasha Banks & Naomi defeated Natalya and Shayna Baszler
- Aliyah defeated Sonya Deville
