As Brock Lesner prepares to step foot inside the octagon again for a co-main event at UFC 200, WWE is eyeing up a female fighter to debut in its squared circle for SummerSlam. Fox Sports is confirming that Paige VanZant is in preliminary talks with WWE to appear in some capacity at the event.
Mike Roberts of MMA Inc., VanZant’s manager, reports that talks are ongoing to bring her in, in some role. No word yet on what that might be.
Rumors about VanZant showing up at SummerSlam first surfaced via PWInsider on Monday.
VanZant recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars and she also has a film role in the upcoming Kickboxer: Retaliation sequel that’s filming in Thailand later this year.
If true, this would not be the first time a female UFC star has stepped inside a WWE ring. Fomer Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made an appearance at Wresltemania 31 to take on Stephanie MchMahon in a short segment. Both Triple H and Stephanie are fans of Rousey and her MMA four horsewomen.
