Ronda Rousey faced Liv Morgan in an attempt to regain the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam over the weekend. Things didn’t go as planned for Rousey as the referee awarded Morgan the victory which left the match with a controversial finish.
Morgan was locked into a submission by Rousey whose shoulders went down to the mat for the referee’s count of three. What the official did not see was that Morgan had tapped out in the submission just before the three count happened. Rousey would lose it after the match knowing that she rightfully won and after taking it out on Morgan would target the referee.
Following her attack on referee Dan Engler at SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey has been fined an undisclosed amount and will be suspended.
An irate Rousey attacked the official after her SmackDown Women’s Title Match, claiming he missed Liv Morgan tapping out to the Armbar while he counted the pinfall.
Due to her suspension, Rousey will not appear on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.
