WWE announced today via Twitter that they will be present at the SXSW Conference & Festivals. The purpose of their appearance is to discuss the evolution of women’s wrestling, and its future. At the event will be Cathy Kelly, along with Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and Charlotte Flair.
The name of the session is titled “Women’s Evolution in WWE and Beyond”. From the name of this session, it could include women’s empowerment outside of the realm of WWE. McMahon will also take part
Many fans are responding to this news in hopes that an all-female pay-per-view event for this year will be announced. The evolution of women’s wrestling is historically attributed to the #GiveDivasAChance movement that started in 2015. Three years later, the first WWE all-female pay-per-view was in October, titled Evolution.
As previously reported, Heels by Nature provided the pay-per-view schedule for 2019. There is currently not any all-women’s event listed.
