The October 20th edition of IMPACT Wrestling featured a first-time-ever matchup for the Knockouts division, and it could be the last time as well.
Mia Yim went one-on-one with the returning Taylor Wilde, who popped back up at Bound For Glory in the Call Your Shot gauntlet. The bout stayed rather fast-paced from bell to bell as the two worked each other through various submissions and pinfall attempts. In the end, Wilde connected with Wilde Ride to secure the three-count.
Post-match, Mickie James made her way out and laid down a challenge to face Wilde before Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green ambushed both of them. Gisele Shaw joined VXT for the beatdown until Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace made the save and cleared the ring. To cap things off, the champ raised hands with both of her potential challengers.
Later on, in a backstage segment, James (with Wilde and Grace) issued a challenge to face VXT and Shaw in a six-Knockout tag team match next week.
This episode marked the end of Mia Yim’s short-term deal with the company, and she is once again a free agent. Since returning in May, Yim competed for both the Knockouts World and Tag Team Championship. She took part in the very first Queen of the Mountain match at Slammiversary and continued to break barriers by competing in a couple of multi-person X-Division matches. It remains to be seen where “The HBIC” will land next.
