“Your Two Cents” is our interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.
This week, we’re asking this: Davina Rose‘s new WWE moniker has us wondering: what do you think have been the best and worst names given to women in wrestling? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!
Ashley Matthew | Worst: Kelly Kelly. Seriously? You don’t need to have the name in there twice. Besides, her real name fit her better. As for the best: Alundra Blayze. That stood out. |
Brandon Bray | Best: Athena, it presents herself as a Goddess like the Greek Goddess Athena. Also Sasha Banks. Worst: Rosie Lottalove, BB, Caylee Turner, Wesley Holiday (and all of Beverly’s names). |
Christopher Courtney | I would have to say Madusa is the worst name. She’s a great wrestler and all, but a lot of times I ask another wrestling fan do they remember Madusa they think im referring to Medusa as in the Medusa with snakes for hair. |
Josue Guzman | MsChif is definitely one the best names out there. One of the worst is Sexy Star, the name just screams something else than women’s wresting. |
Luc Tempest | Kaitlyn is right up there on the boring scale. Diva’s Champ Celeste might not sound as “girl-next-door”, but I’d rather have someone from down the street and two blocks away. |
Mary-Helen Clark | Best: Lita, Beth Phoenix (I refuse to count the epic ness of Trish Stratus as she used that name before wrestling). They were iconic sounding & impressive. Worst: Audrey Marie. Generic. Blah. |
Oliver James Mcgregor | Worst: Muffy, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley’s personal trainer… Need I say anymore? |
@pikatrick | Alicia Fox has got to be my fave. It’s the sexy standout/borderline pornstar names that stood out. Aloisa and Liviana tho…yikes. |
Zak Burke | Worst: most of the names given to the developmental Divas in the last few years.. |
And now we turn it over to you…
