Your Two Cents: Greatest WrestleMania Moments

“Your Two Cents” is our interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.

This week, we’re asking this: With WrestleMania 28 just days away, we want to know: What do you think is the greatest Diva moment in WrestleMania history? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!

Our Two Cents

Batting for Team DD this week, it’s Bobby giving us his personal opinion on this week’s topic:

Bobby: In my opinion, the greatest Diva WrestleMania moment would have to be when Ashley Massaro almost won the Women’s Championship…okay, I was joking. In all seriousness, I would definitely go with WrestleMania XX when Trish Stratus turned on Chris Jericho and joined forces with Christian! Honestly, I loved everything about Trish and Christian together, and I can’t really think of any matches that really stick out in my head. My favorite match would be the triple threat at WrestleMania XIX between Victoria, Trish, and Jazz but I didn’t start watching wrestling until late 2003 so the greatest moment for me I feel should come from one I watched live.

Your Two Cents

Glenn Cooney | Trish Stratus winning the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania XIX. It was an excellent match pitting Trish against Victoria and Jazz during the golden era of the Womens Division. Solid effort from all the ladies and Trish matched the Fabulous Moolah‘s record for number of titles won.
Josh Andrews | Wrestlemania 9 when Luna Vachon debuted, accompanying Shawn Michaels. Attacking Sherri Martel at ringside and then later on again backstage was hardcore and certainly a “Wrestlemania moment”
Josie Michelle Pearson | Although I hated to see it happen, when Molly Holly got her head shaved!
Josue Guzman | Lita managing Edge’s match against Mick Foley at WrestleMania 22. This was Lita’s first (and sadly last) WrestleMania as a heel but did she play it well! Being that this was under hardcore rules, Lita was able to be involved in the match without the fear of DQ. She showed no fear attacking Foley, took some nasty blows and LITERALLY SET THAT MATCH ON FIRE!
Lydia Alexis Cyrus | Leilani Kai vs. Wendi Richter, the first ever Mania with Cyndi Lauper & The Fabulous Moolah!
@sofbomb | I think there are a few. First ones that spring to mind are Trish’s WM 20 heel turn and of course, Trish vs. Mickie James at 22. The first because I think that was one of the greatest moments of Trish’s career, period. It was unexpected and incredibly well done. I remember recording that Wrestlemania and replaying that moment over and over again for the following months. I was quite young when it happened, and a huge Trish fan, so it was even more shocking. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that. And it of course led to Trish’s fantastic heel run, so even better!

Mickie and Trish at Wrestlemania 22 was also amazing. That whole feud was unbelievably good, and that showed in the atmosphere that night. That match and the crowd involvement was right up there with the men’s matches on the card. That’s what happens when you give two talented women their time to shine; it’s just a shame it rarely happens these days. Mickie’s win was huge for her and even in defeat, Trish too left looking like a million bucks.

@SouthernSiren | The bumps Lita took in the TLC matches. It’s scary enough watching guys do it but wow I was even more impressed when Lita did it.

And now we turn it over to you…
