Our Two Cents
Batting for Team DD this week, it’s Cryssi giving us her personal opinion on this week’s topic:
Cryssi | When it comes to challenging for the title, there’s not exactly a list of worthy candidates at the moment. The ‘E has done a terrible job thus far of handling the Divas with the exception of a few segments. Those segments have starred Eve and Kelly, and it seems like either of them should get the next title shot. For the sake of storyline, I’m picking Eve to get the next shot. She’s been picking up the victories in tag matches and looking ahead, Kelly loses to Beth on SmackDown. Having Eve challenge and look like she has a good shot at winning could fuel Kelly’s new found aggression and maybe even be the stepping stone to an eventual 2K bad girl run. Eve could lose thanks to Kelly, but still have a front and center storyline. DoD could move on to new challengers (Chickbusters please) and everyone wins. That’s my two cents on this matter.

@carter_payne | I would have to go with a new challenger, I could see a Divas Battle Royal with Kelly Kelly being eliminated due to focusing too much on Beth on the outside (maybe on commentary) and have AJ pull out an incredible upset over Natalya (last Diva standing) to win the match. Cue Beth to announce the match will start right away and attack the exhausted AJ for an easy win. BOOM instant feud with AJ seeking back up from Kaitlyn in the Eve supporting role |

@GregLucM | While a Beth vs. Eve championship match-up is sure to be better than the already-pretty-good Beth vs. Kelly championship matches, I would like to throw another name into the ring: AJ. The girl does everything one can ask for better than either Kelly or Eve. Provide a better “speedy small girl vs. powerhouse woman” dynamic? Check. Provide a better character, including established back story with being a WWE fan, meeting her idols, and suffering through NXT3? Check. Putting on better in-ring performances than either of the current top contenders? Subjectively checked. Having a name for the team she makes with her best bud? Chickbusters vs. Divas of Doom check. Something NEW? Double check. |

Jhonmarco Velazquez. | I’d like to see this Kelly/Beth storyline continue, but with effort put into making this mean something! I can see Beth/Kelly at Vengeance (which ends with a no contest as Beth & Kelly fight to the outside viciously). This leads to a match at SS which Beth wins. Bigger story would be a big build up for that match with backstage segments, fights, & promos. Maybe even extending it to TLC? Could be amazing & make Kelly’s career if booked right. I mean Kelly’s matches with Beth have been great for her. |

Josue Guzman | Well besides Natalya, the only real woman I can see Beth going head to head with is Tamina. I enjoyed Tamina’s matches against Natalya when they were part of the Usos/Hart Dynasty feud. Her moveset goes beyond the average kick, slap and dreadful roll up that most of the Divas seem to use. She has been so underused as of lately that now would be a great time to give her the push she deserves! If done correctly this can be one of the greatest Divas feud we’ve seen in a long rime. |

Spicey-Spice Donoghue | As of the current active division it’ll have to be the vivacious Alicia Fox! I was so pleased when she won the divas championship last year at fatal four way and even prouder that she showed how she could carry the title with skill and finesse. As of now there is only one other diva that could and should be mentioned in this and that is Tamina. However, my thoughts are once Layla and (most looking forward too) Maryse return, the landscape could change completely! |

Tom Fox | Kharma‘s departure has seriously rocked the division. It seemed the ‘E knew their direction with Kharma but with her gone until at least Wrestlemania, all of this stuff what they are doing now is just filling until Kharma comes back and then they carry on from where they left off. As for the next challenger.. I’m thinking it’ll be Layla when she returns in a few months or even Maryse if she they decide to turn her face. I can 100% say that around the time of Wrestlemania, the twins will be the champion again and Kharma will return and take them out. DOD/kelly/eve thing will be long forgotten. |
