Yuka Sakazaki returns to AEW and will be in the ring for the first time since February where she took part in the AEW Women’s World Champion Eliminator Tournament for the Japan bracket. This will be the first time she is back in an AEW ring stateside since February 2020.
Her opponent will be Penelope Ford and they will face off on Night One of Fyter Fest that takes place next week. She also has had a taped match for Elevation against KiLynn King which will air on July 12 prior to her match at Fyter Fest.
Other matches for the pre-taped Elevation have been announced as:
Thunder Rosa vs. Dreamgirl Ellie
Riho vs. Amber Nova
Hikaru Shida vs. Julia Hart
Tay Conti vs. Local Talent
Leyla Hirsch vs. Kelsey Heather
Red Velvet vs. Leila Grey
It has already been announced that for Night Two of Fyter Fest the AEW Women’s World Title will be on the line as the champion Britt Baker defends against Nyla Rose. That will take place on July 21.
Baker was interviewed backstage where she expressed her anger towards Tony Khan for booking the tag team match last week which resulted in Rebel being injured and herself being put through a table at the hands of Rose.
On this week’s Dynamite: Road Rager there was a Mixed Tag Team Grudge Match between Kris Statlander & Orange Cassidy vs. The Bunny & The Blade. Statlander picked up the win for her team by hitting The Big Bang Theory on The Bunny to get the three count.
