Zelina Vega has moved into the finals of the Queen’s Crown Tournament as she defeated Carmella on this week’s SmackDown.
In another quick blink of an eye match, Vega and Carmella agreed that any attack on Carmella’s face wasn’t going to take place. Therefore, the self-proclaimed most beautiful woman in all of WWE didn’t need her mask. A face mask she has been using against Liv Morgan to protect herself.
This agreement changed once Carmella kicked Vega in the face. Vega pounced in retaliation on her opponent and threw punches directly targeting the face. Carmella retreated to go get her mask but she was distracted by the referee’s count so she asked for a time-out. When Carmella turned back around, Liv Morgan was holding the mask which backtracked Carmella back into the ring.
Once back in the ring, Vega took advantage and quickly picked up the victory. She will face the winner of Doudrop vs. Shayna Baszler on RAW as the finals take place at Crown Jewel this coming Thursday.
Naomi, who quietly was moved to SmackDown even before the recent draft [and is staying on SmackDown], finally got her long-awaited match on this week’s show.
Or does she? Technically, yes. Only it wasn’t exactly what she had thought.
For weeks she tried to be nice and polite with WWE official Sonya Deville who just wouldn’t book her in a match. When that didn’t work, Naomi turned up the heat and demanded a match while not taking no for an answer.
Deville finally granted her a match and took it upon herself to make herself Naomi’s opponent. Which she was. What Naomi wasn’t expecting was it would be a 2-on-1 handicap match and Deville would introduce Shayna Baszler to the SmackDown roster.
Despite getting in a bit of offensive and doing what she could, the numbers game was too much for Naomi. After a Kirifuda Clutch by Baszler lowered Naomi down to the mat, Deville pinned her adversary with only a single foot.
For those of us who may be missing the longest-reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, she spent the night trolling the women’s roster on Twitter.
